Gert Smit – FinancesJaap and Ilona give me the opportunity to serve and give aid to my fellow human beings in South Africa. I admire the work they are doing there and see the results of conservation agriculture. It is wonderful how they are able to do all this as Christians. I hope that a lot of people will get to know God through this. I gladly give some of my time to serve in the TFC.
We got to know Jaap and Ilona when we lived in Lesotho for 2 ½ years and we became good friends. The necessity of the work of Growing Nations became very clear to us during that time. We would love to support Jaap and Ilona from the Netherlands. Will you join us?!

We are connected to Jaap and Ilona and their kids as brother and sister-in-law. From this connection we would like to support their work and mission in Lesotho. As Christians, we consider it important to care for the earth responsibly, which God the Creator gave us to live upon. With their work at Growing Nations, Jaap and Ilona would like to carry over this responsibility to the Basotho. They do this by means of applying conservation agriculture methods in Lesotho from a Christian perspective. We would like to help and serve them from the Netherlands, so that they can keep on doing their work.
Zwaantje SchippeI came into contact with Jaap and Ilona when Jaap was looking for a guesthouse in Beilen. He had just got a job in the area, but they hadn’t found a house yet. This is how our friendship started, and remained. In December 2009, together with my husband Aaldert Jan, our daughter and son-in-law, visited them. We went to Lesotho with them and we have seen the work of Jaap, the project sites and the differences between the crops. It was very impressive to see how much better the return of the maize and the other produce can be with the knowledge and help Growing Nations is offering with the blessing of our Lord.
